Ghandruk Village Trek

Ghandruk Village Trek

Ghandruk Village Trek is a short and easy trek trail located in the famous Annapurna region of Nepal. Ghandruk is a beautiful village situated at an altitude of 1,940 meters and is known for stunning mountain views, traditional Gurung culture, and warm hospitality.

It's just a day's walk from Pokhara to get you to Ghandruk village, your final destination, but we recommend starting your trek from Dhampus Phedi or Kande instead of Nayapul, which takes a couple of days to get there. As there is a motorable road between Nayapul to Ghandruk, most trekkers prefer not to walk on the motorway on the first day.

From Ghandruk, on the return journey, you either continue the trek to Nayapul or have the option of driving depending on the service you choose. Our Ghandruk trek includes Jhinu Danda, where you can relax in natural hot springs. This is a great way to relax and soothe your muscles after a trek. The hot springs are located a short hike downhill from Jhinu Danda.

This trek is especially good for families coming with kids or elders, as it doesn’t entail any particularly long walking days and there is always plenty to see. The trek does not involve any difficult climbs or high altitude climbs.

The trek offers stunning views of the Annapurna, Hiunchuli, and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) mountains. You will walk through terraced fields, rhododendron forests, and charming villages, immersing yourself in the natural beauty of the region.

The trek starts from Dhampus Phedi, and along the way, you will pass through Dhampus Village. Dhampus is a beautiful Gurung village that offers panoramic views of the Annapurna and Manaslu mountain ranges. Continue the trek from Dhampas village gradually ascending to Pothana, from here you will follow a steep climb to Pitam Deurali.

After Pitam Deurali, you will walk almost downhill to Tolkha and gradually descend to Landruk village, further down to the river bank. From here again you will follow a steep uphill trail to Jhinu Danda. From Jhinu Danda, walk for a few minutes the way you came, and follow the path uphill to Ghandruk village.

After visiting the Ghandruk village and enjoying the wonderful views of the mountains and watching the sunrise over the mountains. Trek or drive the downhill and flat trail to Nayapul. From here take private transport (taxi or other depending on the size of the group) to Pokhara and return to Kathmandu by tourist bus or flight depending on the service you choose.
