and is of special interest to the nature lover. During this trek you
can enjoy an abundance of wild flowers, the rare blue poppy, many variety
of rhododendrons, rhubarb, amongst many other species. The valleys and
mountain sides are the home of the rare blue sheep and the elusive snow
leopard. There are great view of many snow capped peaks including Karpo-la,
Dongkhya peak, Lhako peak and Sengkamo. A rewarding trek to a Himalayan
valley of rare beauty.
Sikkim Trekking to Rhododendron Valley Itinerary
Day 01: Arrive at Bhadrapur Or Bagdogra Airport. Meet guide and drive
to Gangtok the capital of Sikkim.
Day 02: Gangtok town & Rumtek Monastery sightseeing. Hotel.
Day 03: Drive from Gangtok to Lachung (2600ft).
Day 04: Drive Lachung to Yumthang (3600m) valley. Afternoon hike around
beautiful forested Yumthang valley. Tents.
Day 05: Trek from Yumthang to Tsethang (3900m) with good view of Sengkam
Peak. Tent.
Day 06: Trek Tsethang to Chukyasa (4200m) via Lhako tso lake. Tent.
Day 07: Trek across Lha-Bha Pass (4430m) to Lha Thang (4000m). Tent.
Day 08: Trek Lhathang to Cave Camp. Tent.
Day 09: Trek to Hot Springs at Tarum Tsachu through rich Rhododendron
forest. Tent.
Day 10: Tarum Tsachu-Tarum Bridge (2179m). Sikkim Trek ends. Drive to
Lachen valley. Lodge or Tents.
Day 11: Drive Lachen to Gangtok. Afternoon free in Gangtok. Hotel.
Day 12: Drive to Bagdogra or Bhadrapur Airport for departure flight.
