Noera Valley Nature Trek
Noera Valley Nature Reserve is one of the last remaining pristine ecosystems of the Eastern Himalaya with its amazing bio-diversity, and is home to many rare and endangered, plants, animals and birds.
This trek starts from Lava and treks through the richly forested hills and valleys to reach the 3152 Meters high, Rachela Pass at the India-Bhutan border. The return trek is through the farmlands and villages of Rishi River Valley with its ethnic hamlets, cardamom plantations, cascading streams and waterfalls. Very few westerners have visited this hidden natural jewel and if you are looking for an easy trek in an area rich in natural history and beautiful views this is just the trek for you. For bird watchers this trek is attractive during the spring months of March to June.
ITINERARY
Day 01: Arrive at Bagdogra Airport, NJP Railway Station or Bhadrapur Airport. Meet local guide and drive to Kalimpong. Hotel.
Day 02: Morning visit Monastery and Kalimpong bazzar. Afternoon drive to Lava (2100m).Forest Bunglow or Guest House.
Day 03-06: 4-Day Neora Valley Nature Reserve trek to Rachela Pass (3152m). Return via Rishi Valley back to Lava.Forest Bungalow or Guest House.
Day 07: Drive via Kalimpong and Teesta Valley to Darjeeling. Hotel.
Day 08: Early morning visit Tiger Hill for sunrise view over Kanchanjunga range. Rest of the day walking and jeep tour around Darjeeling.
Day 09: Free day in Darjeeling.
Day 10: Drive to Bagdogra Airport, NJP Railway Station or Bhadrapur Airport. End of tour.
